History of Allen, TX
Until 1948, Allen was just another railroad stop on the line from Dennison to Dallas. However, when it was incorporated as a city in 1953, the city has steadily grown, thanks to its proximity to Interstate 75 and other developing cities.
Allen used to be a home to Native American Indians until the 1840s, when the first settlers from Europe started arriving. The town itself was named in the 1840s after Ebenezer Allen, a state politician who believed in the power of the railroad.
The first train robbery in Texas was supposed to have happened in Allen.
These days, Allen is a booming city with emphases on art, food, culture, and group facilities. It is consistently being ranked by various publications as being one of the best places to move to.
